Imagine being wrapped in sunshine and surrounded by white-capped mountains and crisp air - so refreshing that it takes your breath away (in a good way). The 104 West team temporarily elevated their location from 5,280 feet in Denver to 9,000 feet in Winter Park for their 2015 Agency Summit where we reflected on 2014 and developed strategic focus for 2015, while Patrick led us on a few fun, introspective team-building exercises.
Teamwork: noun team·work \ˈtēm-ˌwərk\
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of teamwork is “the work done by people who work together as a team to do something.” It seems like a simple concept, but why do we need to focus on working together if we already work together five days a week? Because there’s always room for growth. Our goal with these fun and informal exercises was to develop trust, cooperation, communication and problem solving skills.

Laughter was shared throughout these exercises, but more importantly it brought the entire team closer together, ultimately strengthening our trust with each other. After bonding for hours, the happiest of all hours arrived.

The day was capped off with at Lime, an American Cantina and Tequila Bar in the Winter Park Village. Needless to say the rich conversations continued over mouthwatering Mexican food and deep into the night.
As we sipped on coffee and pastries the next morning, we reminisced about the two truths and a lie exercise and half the team booted up to hit the slopes while the other half began their snowshoe adventure.

As we reflect on the 2015 104 West Agency Summit, the team building exercises stand out. It was a wonderful opportunity for folks to step out of their comfort zone and build trust within the team, which will ultimately help the agency grow in its success.
